Nelson mayor gives cupw-nelson full support for “save our public post office” campaign

CUPW Nelson BC    July 11, 2013    https://www.facebook.com/CUPWNelsonBC

Today, Major John Dooley met with Debbie Bird the Vice-President of CUPW Nelson 790, to show full support for our campaign to "Save Our Public Post Office".

We are asking Canada Post to stop downsizing, privatizing, to have the Postal Charter out in the open for the public to have a say. Canada Post is a Crown Corporation and have been making loads of profit and given each year for over 10 years dividends to the government and paying millions in income taxes.

Canada post needs to remember we deliver the Queens mail and we need the price of a stamp to stay affordable for every Canadian. Removing an infrastructure as Canada Post will make costs sky rocket. Nelson is an anchor in this region with many government offices and central location for many small businesses.

Thank you, Mayor and City Council Members for your support! Thank You.
