BC Labour Heritage Centre Student Essay Prize Winner

We’re pleased to announce this year’s student essay prize winner, Shayne Edwards.The Labour Heritage Centre provides an annual prize of $1000 to the best essay written by a student enrolled in one the courses offered by the Simon Fraser University Labour Studies Program.

The winning essay is “The Legal Limits of Solidarity: Understanding the Sympathy Strike’s Recent Significance Within the Canadian Labour Movement.”

Shayne Edwards, the winner of this year’s prize, is from Burnaby, B.C., and in the final year of the Bachelor of Arts program at Simon Fraser University. Shayne is currently a member of the steering committee of the Labour Studies Student Union at SFU and will graduate this year with a degree in History/Labour Studies.
